Thank you for your time, energy and attention, it was a pleasure to work with you iat the Wat Tyler Centre and I truly hope that you found the session and your discussions useful.
If there are any issues or questions you would like to discuss following the day please feel free to contact me, either at kate@kateatkin.com or 07779 646976.
On this page you will find some extra information on the topics we discussed, including the imposter phenomenon and resilience, based on my own research and that of other experts, plus links to a TED Talk and a tips booklet on resilience.
We are still at an early stage in understanding the impact of the Imposter Phenomenon, especially in the workplace. Here's a link to the most recent research on IP in the workplace by TotalJobs, in collaboration with yours truly and Dr Terri Simpkin: TotalJobs Survey.
My interest is in understanding the most effective ways of managing imposter feelings and passing this information on to others. As I mentioned, I have started my PhD research on this topic. If you are interested in keeping up to date with my research findings and musings on the topic, do sign up to receive my newsletter.
You don't have to take a strengths questionnaire, strengths can be identified in other ways: by asking other people, by looking at the threads in the feedback you receive, and by knowing what you enjoy doing. Giving strength-based feedback to others will them them identify theirs too.
In a TED talk by Jane McGonigal she covers 4 key ways to build resilience - skip to 12min 20 secs in, if you don't want to watch it all.
The Resilience Factor by Karen Reivich, who has done extensive research in this area, covers the ABCs of Resilience (I'm loathe to put up an Amazon link, other retailers are available!).
Finally, do have a browse around the rest of my website if you would like to know more about me and what I do. If you would like to keep in touch, then you can connect with me on LinkedIn, Twitter or sign up to receive my occasional newsletter.
